Basic History
Project Equality is a national program with over 35 years of experience in working to change employment practices by utilizing the purchasing power of its members to encourage and motivate suppliers of goods and services to take affirmative employment actions. They are the premier organization uniting individuals, religious, non-profit and corporate partners to lead the transformation of the work force to true inclusiveness. They help member organizations and employers to demonstrate their commitment to people of color, women, persons who are differently abled, older adults and others who encounter discrimination, regardless of sexual orientation.

Basic Beliefs
Project Equality is committed to strengthening its stand for equal employment opportunity for all persons, extending its economic impact to a widening network of religious, not-for-profit, and for-profit organizations.

They are committed to providing an arena for faith communities and civic groups to work with corporations in achieving diversity, and will continue to serve as a vehicle for employers and he religious community to demonstrate their commitment to equal employment opportunity.

Leadership
President - Reverend Kirk P. Perucca

Basic Facts
Project Equality membership now includes nearly 50 national religious denominations, nonprofit organizations, and corporations, representing 30 million constituents. Over 2,100 employers in 120 countries participate in their equal employment certification process. They document the equal employment commitment of suppliers, vendors and travel providers and publish a Buyer's Guide used by the religious, not-for-profit, civil rights, justice and corporate communities.

They Buyer's Guide has expanded from 1511 companies in 1997 to almost 3,000 employers in 2001. This significant growth is largely due to our member organizations, who make documentation with Project Equality a priority in their purchasing stipulations.
