Did we say 'there's a mountain of stuff here'? Actually, it's more like an iceberg. Browsing our channels will reveal only the tip. Most of it is under the surface, in our continuously expanding database of faith-based content. We've created several ways of searching this database. All of them are accessible through our secondary navigation bar.

There are several different ways to search our site and we'll get to each of them in a moment. No matter how you search, you'll get back a search results page.
Search by keyword
The easiest way to search is just to type a keyword in the search box and click GO (or hit Enter). What you'll get back is a list of all the items in our database containing that keyword, with the most recent items first. In order to make searches more relevant, we do not search full text, only headings and a special list of keywords. If you don't find what you're looking for on a first search, try searching on a synonym or related terms.

Search by topic
Each piece of content in our database is assigned to a topic. Click for a list of topics.
The search by topic button lets you list all items related to an individual topic. (Click first on the Search by topic button, then click on the individual topic.) The items are listed in alphabetical order by title.

Search by content provider
Our "content providers" are the people who actually produce the material. There are dozens of them, from American Baptists to United Methodists, from international ecumenical organizations to talented individuals, from denominational headquarters to 'skunk works' in church basements. They have only two things in common: they believe in God, and they produce good stuff.
Searching by content provider lets you list all the material contributed by an individual provider. (Click first on the Search by Content Provider button, then click on the individual provider.) The items are listed by topic with the most recent items in each topic listed first.

Advanced search
Advanced search lets you easily combine searches by keyword, topic, and content provider, and it adds a fourth search category: media type (e.g., text, audio, video).
With advanced search you fill in as many search parameters as you want:
-
begin with keyword to narrow your search results (or leave keyword blank for a wider search)
-
select a topic from the drop-down list (or leave it blank to search all topics)
-
select a media type (or leave it blank to search all media)
-
select a content provider (or leave it blank to search all providers)
.
Any combination of the above is possible, and together they provide a powerful search tool.
